Custom Handmade Kindle Case
I made this leather case for the Kindle 3 from a piece of leather and some felt (and some hard work)
Inside view
The main part is goat leather and the black corners on the inside are kangaroo.
Kindle inside the case
it’s a fairly tight fit and the Kindle is meant to be kept in the case while reading.
Front cover
The front cover is the Kindle logo carved into the leather (I didn’t have the proper tools for this one so I had to use whatever I could find around the house) and it’s dyed in black and brown.
Closed Case
All major controls are accessible with the Kindle in the case.
Corners
The top corner is a rubber band so that it’s easier to put the device into the case.
Back Cover
The back is all black and has an extra layer of leather for reinforcement

It’s really claver. I’m loving it.
So if i wanted to make something similar.
1. where would i buy the leather from
2. How did you make the leather hard
3. what did you use to stitch? just a regular needle and thread?
Hi James,
You can get leather from specialized stores. I recommend at least 2.6-3mm thickness so that it doesn’t flex too much. You have to sew with waxed thread, 2 needles and an awl (to pre punch the holes)
